Ingredients
Chicken:
- 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- ½ tsp coarse ground black pepper
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp kosher salt
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 3 tsp minced garlic
Honey Garlic Sauce:
- ½ cup honey
- ¼ cup light soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 Tbsp hoisin sauce
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Garnish:
- 2 Tbsp sliced green onions
- 1 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, light soy sauce, olive oil, and hoisin sauce. Add red pepper flakes if desired. Set aside.
- Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces. Season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- Place seasoned chicken in a gallon-sized zip-top bag. Add flour, seal, and shake until evenly coated.
- Heat 2 Tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook for 3 minutes. Flip and cook another 3 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Reduce heat to medium. Pour in the honey garlic sauce. Stir and cook for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds. Serve over rice, noodles, or cauliflower rice.
Notes
Thighs or tenders work instead of breasts. Add broccoli, peppers, or peas if you want a stir-fry. Thicken a thin sauce with 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons cold water. Leftovers keep 3–4 days in the fridge or 2 months in the freezer.
