Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef or stew meat (brown and drain the ground beef first; about 2 cups cooked = 1 lb)
  • 4 cans cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • Egg noodles, cooked the day you serve
  • Sliced mushrooms, optional

Instructions

  1. Chop the onion. Brown the ground beef with the onion and drain the grease.
  2. Put everything except the egg noodles and sour cream in the slow cooker.
  3. Cook on low 5–6 hours.
  4. Boil the egg noodles. Stir the noodles and sour cream into the pot and serve.

Notes

  1. Freezer bag: mix everything except noodles and sour cream; freeze flat. Thaw and cook as above.
  2. No mushrooms? Cream of chicken or celery works. You can skip the sliced mushrooms too.
